The University Management has issued a new directive on the submission of staff requests for educational rebates, citing delays that have hampered processing and budget alignment.
In a circular from the Registrar’s Office to all staff, the university management expressed concern that rebate requests are often not submitted as and when due by staff. The circular noted that the delay has created challenges in processing applications and aligning the requests within a budget cycle.
Consequently, the Vice Chancellor has directed that henceforth, all applications for rebate must be received within the academic session concerned and not later than the end of the first semester of each session for which the rebate is being sought. The directive states that due process must be followed to ensure holistic and timely processing of all applications for the particular session.
The circular further stated that requests submitted after the stipulated time will not be attended to. Going forward, it also clarified that applications for previous sessions will not be processed.
All staff have been enjoined to comply strictly with the new directive.
