The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe (FUTSE), Prof. Kazeem A. Oshikoya, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, led principal officers of the newly established institution on a courtesy visit to the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH). Prof. Oshikoya was accompanied by the Registrar, Mr. Kabiru Okugbesan; the Librarian, Prof. Racheal Odunlami; the Bursar, Mr. Shakiru Babatunde Quadri; and the Personal Assistant, Mr. Kunle Odesanya. The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, and Principal Officers at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, LASUSTECH. FUTSE, which was established by the Federal Government in 2025, is taking off with three proposed faculties - Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Prof. Odusanya expressed delight at the visit, noting that the new university is located in his area in Epe. “We are glad to have you in our University, we can see you as a sister University that we can work together,” he said. He assured the FUTSE team that LASUSTECH’s doors remain open at all times for support and collaboration. Sharing LASUSTECH’s growth trajectory, Prof. Odusanya stated that the university started with 5 Colleges and 31 programs and now runs 41 programs, with 25 fully accredited and 15 pending accreditation. He added that by the end of this year, all programs would be fully accredited. “We would like to help you build team,” your he emphasized. In his response, Vice Chancellor FUTSE, Prof. Kazeem A. Oshikoya, expressed profound gratitude for the reception and advice. He noted that Prof. Odusanya had gone through the process and was in the best position to guide them. He said FUTSE would be returning soon for assistance on curriculum development and to tap into LASUSTECH’s wealth of knowledge. Prof. Oshikoya identified collaboration in the areas of funds and staff as key needs for the new university. He requested that FUTSE be welcomed whenever they visit for further discussions, stating that such engagements could be held at LASUSTECH.
