The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), Lagos Chapter, paid a
courtesy visit to the Department of Quantity Surveying, on Tuesday, March 3,
2026. The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the
industry and academia, with a focus to enhancing departmental operations
and facilities.
Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, the Dean,
College of Environmental Design and Technology, Prof. Oladapo Dare Abel,
warmly welcomed the NIQS delegation. He expressed appreciation for their
interest in the welfare of students and staff, noting the College’s expanding
facilities and programmes. The Deputy Chairman, NIQS Lagos Chapter, QS Femi Falusi, reaffirmed the
Institute’s commitment to supporting the department. He identified key areas
of collaboration including accreditation support, lecturer recruitment, infrastructural development, research projects,
mentorship, and curriculum enhancement.
Alumni of the legacy institution (LASPOTECH),
QS Azeez Ayodabo and QS Sanni Ademuyiwa,
expressed their fondness for LASUSTECH and
pledged to prioritize students of the institution
for mentorship and professional development
opportunities.

Oyekunle, welcomed the NIQS delegation, while

Oyediran
emphasized the department’s immediate needs,
including the establishment of a computer
laboratory and access to updated quantity
surveying software.
